Francis (Frank) Dooley

Chief Executive Officer

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand who recently retired from public practice and now acts as a financial consultant. Frank has extensive governance experience having been Chairman of Buller Electricity Limited since 2006. He is currently Chairman of the O’Conor Home Trust Management Committee, director of Pulse Energy Limited and an elected member of the West Coast Regional Council. He Chairs the Audit Committee for both Pulse Energy and the WCRC. He is also a director of numerous private companies and an experienced Trustee.

Dan Roos

Commercial Manager

Dan has 15 years’ experience in Energy Distribution and has a strong background in strategic leadership, growth, development and building collaborative relationships. Devising and driving business improvement strategies, setting benchmarks in revenue targets, organisational effectiveness and business performance, cost management and customer service assurance. Dan is results driven with an expansive career history driving process improvements and established a reputation for finding opportunities in amongst change and turmoil, leading businesses to realise their full potential.

Dale Ross

Network Asset Manager

Dale Ross joined Buller Electricity Limited Group in 1990 and is employed as the Network Asset Manager responsible for all network related assets. Dale has been involved in the electrical industry since 1981 when he commenced work as an electrical apprentice in Nelson. Since that time Dale has had various roles including Line Mechanic, Technician and Engineering Manager.

Joseph D Segall

Chief Financial Officer

Buller Electricity Limited Financial Controller Joe D Segall joined the company 26 October 2015 and is responsible for the company’s overall financial functions. Joe worked for Bradken Resources Dunedin for several years prior to relocating to Westport.

Nick Hawes

Operations Manager

Nick Hawes commenced his journey with the Buller Electricity Limited Group in January 2015 as an electrical technician. Over the years, he transitioned into the role of Team Leader for the Network Services Team, and in December 2023, Nick assumed the position of Operations Manager. He began his career in the electrical industry as an industrial electrician apprentice at Holcim Westport. After becoming qualified, he continued his studies to achieve his advanced trade before completing an Industrial Measurement & Control apprenticeship. Upon joining Buller Electricity, he earned his Power Technician Qualification, followed by his Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Tokohau Samuels

ESL General Manager

Tokohau Samuels, General Manager at Electro Services Ltd in the Buller Electricity Limited group, joined as an electrical technician in 2020. With a career since 2001 and diverse expertise in protection testing, large project oversight and various sectors, Tokohau excels in fieldwork, design, pricing, project management, and team leadership. Holding apprenticeships in electrical and industrial measurement, along with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, he transitioned to GM in 2023. Tokohau’s strategic vision and commitment to innovation make him a driving force shaping Electro Services Ltd’s future within the Buller Electricity Ltd group.

Kathleen M Adams

Executive Assistant

Buller Electricity Limited Executive Assistant Kathie M Adams joined the company 22 February 1993 reporting directly to the Chief Executive and providing support to the Board of Directors. Prior to that Kathie worked overseas for 23 years with her last assignment in the USA at Levitz, Zacks & Ciceric for 7 years.
